Explore a variety of Bookmaking techniques through a series of projects and experiments.
Take part in this fun and experimental, four-week course, that will develop your understanding of a variety of bookmaking techniques. You will learn about paper, folding techniques, binding, hardback books, Japanese stitch, and much more!
You will feel inspired with paper and images you will want to put into your own book, for a keep sake or personal gift.
You will gain experience and explore your visual ideas through these expressive, creative, hands-on sessions, completing a different mini-project each week. Learn effective book making techniques that you can do at home without the need of fancy equipment.
A relaxed and friendly environment that welcomes everyone, but specifically supports beginners to get to grips with multiple book making techniques.
All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own.
Week 1: Introduction to paper and single paper books.
Zelda has experience running volunteer art workshops, lino printing workshops, and teaching English to students of all ages. Her workshops are designed to be challenging, and creative. By letting your inner artist come to the front to let you leave the session feeling accomplished and on a high.
She is a printmaker, who has exhibited her work around the world. Her work is inspired by life and experiences, sometimes sweet and sometimes scary! She believes that growth and development can be achieved through expression in print.
