A3 Full Colour Print by Bristol artist Kate Healy
Edward Colston was a Bristol-born merchant, member of Parliament and one of the biggest slave traders of English history.
The statue of the prominent 17th century slave trader has been a source of controversy in the city for years, it had been said to be soon removed and placed in a museum, yet nothing had still been done and we are in 2020.
On the 7th June 2020 the statue was pulled down during the peaceful Black Lives Matter march in Bristol City Centre, dragged along the ground and thrown into the Harbour.
